About FIDH – International Federation for Human Rights
FIDH, the International Federation for Human Rights, is an international human rights organization, bringing together 188 member organizations from 117 countries and territories. FIDH’s mandate is to contribute to the respect of all the rights defined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. FIDH aims at obtaining effective improvements in the protection of victims, the prevention of human rights violations and the accountability of their perpetrators.
Experience
Essential:
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience in the field of human rights, with an NGO, an international organization, a governmental institution, an academic institution or research centre;
- In-depth understanding of human rights issues and the political and socio-economic context in Europe;
- Substantial knowledge of European, particularly EU law, institutions and policies and of regional human rights protection mechanisms.
Desirable:
- Experience in conducting research and documentation (including field investigations) on human rights issues;
- Advocacy experience with the EU and member states;
- Previous NGO experience.
Terms and conditions of employment
- 12 months full-time fixed-term contract (extendable depending on availability of additional funding);
- Position based in Brussels (strongly preferred) however other locations may be considered;
- Flexible working arrangements, including possibility of working remotely;
- Salary from 2 800 € gross per month over 13 months;
- Meal vouchers;
- 50% of the cost of public transport passes paid by the employer.
